Dining Room Status: Nearly Complete
The coolest part of the room has to be the floors with the maple border inlay. I can’t imagine how those were put in by hand 100 years ago. If only we had a table that fit this space appropriately! I built this dining room table at my last apartment, and we’re already planning a new one. It will be a little more elegant, and a little less farmhouse-y.
Here is what it used to look like:
Since purchasing, work we have done on the dining room includes…
- Refinish original hardwood flooring
- Paint walls & trim
- Paint coffered ceiling
- Update chandelier
- Refinish interior of built-in
- Build buffet table from scratch (that was my Christmas present from Ian!)
Work we have yet to do on the dining room includes…
- Replace vent covers
- Refinish built-in exterior for more “raw wood” look
