How To Get Hair Out Of Vacuum Roller PERMANENTLY

Guys, my home cleaning routine has been completely transformed in the past year or so. Cutting hair out of my vacuum roller used to be a regular part of my cleaning routine. However, I finally figured out how to get hair out of vacuum roller permanently. And this eureka moment happened as soon as I bought the Shark Duo Clean model about 4 months ago. Note: Our exact model is no longer available, but it has been replaced with a newer model that now offers a swivel-head, which I would DIE for!

I’m NEVER Cutting Hair Out Of A Vacuum Roller Again

Now, like most of our reviews, this article is unsponsored. Shark did not contact us or request that we review their vacuum. I’m writing about how to get hair out of vacuum roller permanently because I’m so glad to finally be rid of that yucky chore. And I don’t want you guys to have to keep doing it any longer than you have to! We purchased the Shark Duo Clean vacuum with our own money, and we would do it again. Here’s why we love this vacuum so much.

This is what our vacuum roller used to look like, after 3 uses or so. Because I have long hair and shed just as much as my dogs, it would constantly get tangled in the vacuum roller. This would result in reduced suction and much less efficient floor cleaning. Therefore, every few weeks, we would have to turn the vacuum over and cut the tangled hair out of the roller, like this. Gross, right? I always wondered if there was a better way regarding how to get hair out of vacuum roller and hose attachments permanently.

How To Get Hair Out Of Vacuum Roller PERMANENTLY

I wish I could say that I did a ton of research regarding the best vacuum for long hair, pets, and dirty households in general before purchasing. Alas, I do not find vacuum research particularly exciting, and tend to buy them on a whim. When I saw that the Shark Duo Clean “Zero M” model specializes in not having to manually remove hair from the brush roller, I figured it was worth a try. To be honest, I didn’t have very high hopes for it actually keeping hair out of the roller brush. I thought that, at best, the tangled hair would be reduced, and I would appreciate the reduction.

After my first few times using the vacuum, I was hooked. Not only did I notice that hair didn’t get caught around the brush roller, but I loved the increased suction power, too. After trying various brands early on, we’ve been a Shark Vacuums family for years. This is easily my favorite Shark Vacuum to date. Sure, it solved the “how to get hair out of vacuum roller” problem for me. But here are a few other things I love about our Shark Duo Clean vacuum.

Shark Duo Clean Pros

  • Increased suction power
  • Variable suction control (This is hugely helpful with our Ruggable system)
  • Powerful upholstery attachment
  • LiftAway allows for easy mobility

Shark Duo Clean Cons

While I obviously love the Shark Duo Clean vacuum, there are a few caveats that one should consider before purchasing. These obviously aren’t enough to turn us off of the vacuum, but I want you to be totally informed.

  1. Slightly increased weight from other Shark models
  2. Extra brush roller should be washed occasionally
  3. Older model (mine) doesn’t have swivel head (but the new model does!

How Shark Duo Clean Performs In Scientific Experiments

I’m not a scientific expert on comparing vacuum models, but Vacuum Wars did a few videos with great demonstrations regarding why he loves the Shark Duo Clean model, too. His approach is much more scientific. I’m just here to tell you that, in everyday real-life use, we absolutely love it.

You can buy the newest version of our model on Amazon by clicking here. Otherwise, many stores & warehouses such as Costco and Walmart also carry similar models. We buy these knockoff replacement filters on the cheap, but before you buy these exact ones, I’d triple-check to make sure they’re compatible with the new vacuum model.

How To Get Hair Out Of Vacuum Roller In Summary

All in all, the Shark Duo Clean vacuum has changed my cleaning gear maintenance routine, for good. While I used to have to flip the vacuum roller over and cut the nasties out every few weeks, this nasty chore will now be a very rare occurrence, if ever. After seeking the best way to get hair out of vacuum roller and attachments for years, I’m now sure that the prevention is the best medicine. And the Shark Duo Clean‘s ability to prevent hair from getting caught in the brush roller is one of the most innovative vacuum inventions in this day & age.

Have you discovered an alternative way to keep hair from getting tangled in your vacuum roller? What methods have you used in the past to get hair out of your vacuum brush?
