Master Bedroom Status: Work In Progress
I think the worst part is over, here! Framing and electrical are complete. We’re now moving on to insulation & beginning drywall. In addition the small closet, we will be putting in a large “his & hers” wardrobe system on each side of the window. We’re also going back and forth on upgrading to a king side bed… worth it?
Here is what it used to look like:
Since purchasing, work we have done on the master bedroom includes…
- Remove old carpeting
- Demo paneling cover-up job, plaster walls, & foam tile ceiling down to studs
- Add wall to separate master bath from master bedroom
- Remove old closet
- Frame out soft-close pocket door
- Replace old side-by-side windows with one large window
- Remove old knob & tube wiring and update with all new electrical
- Insulate with spray foam insulation & batt
- Add recessed lighting
- Frame out dress closet & in-wall open shelving
Work we have yet to do on the master bedroom includes…
- Finish adding vapor barrier
- Add cellulose insulation where applicable
- Drywall the walls & ceiling

- Add window trim & baseboard moulding
- Paint walls & trim
